Echo

Echo was a nymph who had a spell put on her because she talked to much. Because of the spell, she was only able to speak when she heard someone else talk and she could only repeat exactly what they said. It is said that you can still hear her voice mimicking you in big caverness places.

To create this photo I set up two mirrors facing eachother so I would get the repeating mirror effect. Then in photoshop, I cropped the pictured and did a blurr soft light. I then sharpened the image to make the reflections pop more.

Apollo-God of Light

Apollo is the god of light or the sun. He is also the patron god of arts and is personified as the "perfect man." Apollo was also supposedly the first to win a gold metal in the olympic games. (I think this is ironic since Apolo Ohno is the most decorated winter olypian)

To make this photograph I set set up a flash light in a completely dark room and took a picture of someone's hand. Then in photoshop I made the picture black and white and did made "sunrays from scratch." (This is explained in my Rays picture)

Rays

To create the effect of sun rays I started by adding a new blank layer on top of the original layer. Then I did a render clouds and then a radial blur with zoom and the amount at 100. I then dragged the center to where I wanted the rays to come from. Then I did another radial blur. Next I added a levels layer and brought the outside levels towards the center. I then blended these layers with an overlay. Next I added another new layer and did a layer mask. I painted the edges with a black paintbrush. Lastly I added another new layer and used a white paint brush to paint where the sun came from.

St. Patty's Day

When I was told we had to do an assignment for St. Patrick's day I instantly remembered that I had these cheesy green clover sunglasses. To change this photo I clone stamped the backgroung because it had a doorway that was very distracting. Then I did a blur overlay and sharpened the picture.

Adam's Music

With this picture I was just messing around with lomo and the gaussian blur and I thought it turned out pretty cool. I did a blur overlay, then lomo, then I did another blur and erased out Adam.

Molly

I don't like this picture as much and the previous one because I feel it looks amateurish. To make the photo more interesting I used the lomo affect and then did a color balance to give it a warmer feel.

Grey Street

I LOVE this photo. It is a picture of my bother walking home from the bus. I decided to make this black and white because I thought it emphasized the sad mood. To adjust this picture, I cropped it, sharpened the edges and made it black and white.

Kacie

This is my favorite picture from the portrait assignment. It is a close up of Kacie's face and to the left of her face is the frozen lake. The angle of the sun left perfect shadows on her face. To adjust this picture, I just did a blur soft light. Then I made a slight blur again and erased her eyes, mouth, and hair.

Ciesta

With this picture I was trying to capture the shadows being casted on my face. I slightly adjusted this picture with a blur overlay and a slight color balance adjustment.

Exploring

I also used this for the Portrait assignment. Kacie and I found this cool shed that was embedded into a wall of rocks. To adjust this photo, I used the blur and soft light. Then I adjusted the color with color balance.

Backyard View

I used this picture for the Portraits project. It is a photo of my younger brother looking out the window at the sunset in our backyard. I didn't need to do anything to adjust this photo.
